Total Number Of Coronavirus Cases In India Rises To 324

Total number of confirmed coronavirus patients in India rose to 324, including 41 foreign nationals, according to health ministry’s data as of 9:45 a.m. on Sunday. 24 patients have been either cured or discharged while four people have succumbed to the pandemic.

Preventive measures against the virus have been stepped up. In Maharashtra, Mumbai and its suburbs, Pune and its surrounding areas, as well as Nagpur are under a partial lockdown. Delhi has announced shutdown of all non-essential activities.

Several state governments have announced relief measures for daily wage workers and the poor. Public and private institutions are working with skeletal staff as most are now working from home.

Join 'Janta Curfew' To Make Fight Against Coronavirus A Success: PM Modi


Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday requested people to join the 'Janta curfew' to make the fight against the coronavirus a success.


Modi had proposed a 'Janta curfew' on Sunday between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m. as part of social distancing to check the spread of the deadly virus.


He said the steps to be taken now will help in the times to come.

"Stay indoors and stay healthy," he added in this tweet.


In his address to the nation on Thursday, Modi while calling for "resolve and restraint" to fight the coronavirus had asked the countrymen to observe a 'Janta curfew' on Sunday.
In a nearly 30-minute national broadcast, he asked people to stay indoors and work from home as much as possible while underscoring the dangers of the coronavirus, saying the world has never seen a crisis as grave as this
